Been a whole lot of shaking going on around here.
Throughout my whole blogging experience I haven’t mentioned much about my dear husband. He wants it that way.
I am overriding his opinion. I love him, respect him, and honor him but right now I need the entire Body of Christ pouring our prayers for my MAN!
This week we found that there was a mass in Kevin’s body that shouldn’t be there. It was causing lymph nodes to swell along his L2 in his spine causing great discomfort. It all starts in his testicles. The swelling of the lymph nodes dear the spine continues in his abdomen and wraps around his aorta.
This was not part of our plans.
We are facing this tumor head on with the Promises that God has given us in His Word. God is still in the healing business. This family knows this first hand. We have seen miracles before and know that God will do it again.
We got the report the other day that this type of tumor is CURABLE! That was miracle number one.
We are headed Friday to Atlanta at Emory Hospital to meet with the best urologist in the state! (Miracle number 2!) I would like to ask everyone to pray. Whether I know you or not.
Tonight, when I went to the hospital to pick up all of our records of all the numerous tests we have had performed in the last 3 days, I even told the tech if He believed there was a God, I needed him to pray.
God is up to something pretty big with this one guys! I know it. All I hear is Him say, “I’ve got this one!”
How are we holding up? Well, how would you hold up? We have good moments and bad. We cry and we scratch our head. We hold our hands up high in Praise to our God who is Almighty. We crumble into the hands of our friends that are holding us up right now.
It’s real.
At the feet of Jesus reading scripture, listening to podcasts, and playing my Jesus music is where you will find us. I hope you will go there too.
I will continue to post on the blog because it is what I know. If you know anyone that would like to receive any updates, then please send them to this site (amygking.com) and sign up to receive any updates through their email. They can do this at the top right of the page. Feel free to post your comments here. It will be great encouragement! Handling everything through Facebook and text just isn’t feasible. I will update here for right now.

* TOTAL Healing – God knows all the details.
* protection as we head to Atlanta
* wisdom for the doctors, nurses and even administration staff as we meet with them
* protection over family staying at home with the girls. Their strength, and Peace.
* Angels to surround us where ever we go.
*Pray without ceasing as the Holy Spirit leads you.
Yesterday morning, as I sucked the fibers of the carpet and spent time at the feet of Jesus I played this song. It gave me great strength! God is so good how He provides music months in advance to help. He showed me this song several months ago and you could hear it playing all throughout our house by our girls.
How are they doing? Fabulous! Faith filled little beings that are stronger than I. Keep lifting them up too!

I’m sorry to hear you are all going through this. I will certainly keep you guys in my prayers. They did a wonderful sermon series at my church, Northpoint Community Church (Andy Stanley’s church), and the title of the series is Climate Change. The very last sermon of the series was last week, & was preached by Jeff Henderson. It’s called “Storm Clouds.” It should be available to view for free on our church website. It is about facing difficult times & choosing hope. I think you would enjoy it.

Amy, praying that God will touch Kevin and remove any trace of a tumor or swollen lymph nodes. Praying that the healing hand of God will baffle the doctors and bring glory to His name! In the meantime, I pray that the Holy Spirit will wrap you in peace and enclose you in love. God IS our strong tower, and He is able! With man, it is impossible, but nothing is impossible with God!

Hi Amy, I’m so sorry for what you and your husband are facing. I’m certain, however, that God is faithful and with your family every step of the way. My prayers are with each of you.
Tell Kevin I remember that he prayed for us at the moment we needed it, it’s only right that I get to return the favor. That’s what friends are for, that’s what brothers and sisters in Christ are for. This is where we do our work. Praying for you all. Love y’all. God never gives us more than we can bear, it’s true. But sometimes, He takes us to the edge of it and dangles us off by our fingernails. But when He pulls us back up we are not the same person. We are stronger, better equipped for service and more like Him than we could ever become any other way. I’ve had to live it. You have too. Praying for strength, wisdom and courage.

Amy, I don’t know you but your post brought me to tears. I will be lifting Kevin, you and your family up in prayer constantly! We know the power of prayer first hand. God knows what we need even before we ask but he wants us to ask Him anyway. Through this post there will be many, many, people flooding the gates of Heaven with prayers on your behalf. Amy, praying for complete healing for your husband!! My husband also had cancer 3 1/2 years ago & will celebrate 3 years of remission next month. We were told that if we had to choose a cancer, this was the one to have. It’s curable now, but 25 years ago was terminal. It was still very scary because his version was aggressive & his tumor was very large. Like you, we had many prayers on our behalf & we could feel them! I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but in hindsight it was such a blessing! It really changes how you view things & gives you a whole new appreciation with life. We knew God had a purpose for giving us that journey. If God takes you to it, He’ll get you through it!! Praying for peace & comfort for all of you & healing for Kevin!!

this is my experience also. God shook my world almost three years ago also when I received a diagnosis of a congenital heart defect that required immediate open heart surgery. God worked miracles in that, and He will work miracles in this as well.
Continue to look to Jesus and not to the cancer. God is working things out far more wonderful than we could ever imagine. Be strong in the Lord and in His Mighty Power… in your weakness He is strong. Bless you, Carla

Amy, I followed the link from Proverbs 31 Woman and “met” you for the very first time, but I have to tell you: what an encouragement that you are being vulnerable in your pain, sharing your certainty that He is in control and your faith that His plans are better than yours even if you can’t see it right now. I have no doubt that He will be glorified in your family’s story at some point in the future, but, sister, He is ALREADY being glorified in your trial because of your openness, vulnerability, humility, and obvious submission to His will!! If your children and husband are blessed by your attitude as I am…wow! I’m praying you are able to feel His presence and rest in His love for you…as well as for total healing, guidance for everyone involved in Kevin’s treatment, and that you’ll consistently SEE the fingerprints of God that are all over you and this situation. You are loved!
Amy, we have never met but I feel as if I know you and your family. I am Cynthia’s sister and she sent word to us at prayer meeting Wednesday night about Kevin’s medical status. God is so good. He will see Kevin, you and your family through this. I am lifting you up to one who can do all things and through him all things are possible.

Amy, I know I don’t know you, but reading about your husband…it reminded me of my husband. In June of 2009 (the 26th – some things you never forget), he had to be rushed to the ER. His gall bladder was in bad shape and there was a stone trapped in the pancreatic duct. Needless to say, the doctors didn’t remove that stone which put my husband into a coma for 6 weeks. We also have two small boys which were ages 3 and not quite 1 at the time. The doctors told me there wasn’t much of a chance for him, as the gall bladder had created sepsis in his belly. He also developed pneumonia and they placed a trachyotomy. It was so hard, as I know your situation is just as hard. I would wake up every morning and tell myself “I’m a rock, and I’m standing on THE ROCK!” just to get through the minutes. God saved my husband, brought him back to us, though he has still fought with chronic pancreatitis and now diabetes. I know that your husband and you and your girls will make it through this. God is holding you in His hands, breathing His breath on you and your family. My family and I will be praying for you all, and I’m excited to see what God’s going to do!

June 6, 2006 my husband went for a sonogram to confirm a kidney stone. It did, but also revealed a large mass on his kidney. Our world was turned upside down with one phone call. It turned out to be a very rare and aggressive cancer. I pray for you that you will find comfort in the messages and feel God’s love every step of the way. I saved the messages that people sent us calling them hugs from Jesus as that is what they felt like. I will be praying for you and all involved.

Praying for him, you, the kids and the rest of the family. I too have been there with a husband seriously sick and not knowing what the future holds. If you ever need to vent or talk I am here for you–we do not know each other but that does not matter–your family is carrying a huge builder that is too much f or the family alone–you need prayers–you nee connectedness with others. and that is what we are called to do.

Our Lord would never let anything happen to you if He didn’t know you are prepared to fight against it, sometimes we hear people crying for their illnesses or any other problems they have, it is great to find families like yours that are so close to prayers to God and that wait on Him for an answer. Amy I shared with Kevin Psalm 118 the morning you were leaving for Atlanta. The Lord put that Psalm on my heart for Kevin and your family. I am continuing to pray and believe as Psalm 118 reveals. I encourage all to read it and to continue praying. We love you all.
I am very much a believer in the power of a testimony. When we speak what Christ has done it is almost as though we are releasing it to be done again. My brother in law just went through almost the exact same battle and two weeks ago we got the report that He is cancer free. During that time my sister remembered the book ” The Hiding Place” by Corrie Ten Boom and how in the concentration camp they prayed to thank the Lord for lice knowing he would use it some way. They ended up being able to share the gospel with countless women because the guards were too afraid of the lice. Joining with you in faith that He does heal and that He is going to use your family in a powerful way!
