Waiting for Jesus

Have you ever had one of those days where your day gets rolling and before you know it you are involved in doing something, or heading up something that wasn’t there before? Later, after you have shaken the busy-ness of it all off, you hear a still small voice inside your head that says, “Now, did I tell you to put that agenda on your plate?”

That is how it all shook down for me yesterday.

I have identified that I have the gift of administration. This is a good thing!

It becomes a bad thing when I use this gift to do things that God has not called me to do. I become quickly frustrated…which should be a HUGE Clue!

This morning, I woke up and started processing it all with Jesus. He is usually BOLD with me in the way He speaks to me. This morning, there was a gentleness that I needed to receive His mercy and grace from being so distracted yesterday.

I wanted to share with you words from my devotional ” Nearer to Jesus : Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young that I read this morning.

“I am renewing your mind. When your thoughts flow freely, they tend to move toward problems. Your focus gets snagged on a given problem, circling round and round it in attempts to gain mastery. Your energy is drained away from other matters through this negative focus. Worst of all, you lose sight of Me.

A renewed mind is Presence-Focused. Train your mind to seek Me in every Moment, every situation. Sometimes you can find Me in your surroundings: a lilting birdsong, a loved one’s smile, golden sunlight. At other times, you must draw inward to find Me. I am always present in your spirit. Seek My Face, speak to Me , and I will light up your mind.”

I messed up when I started to not focus on Jesus and asking Him whether I should have gone to this meeting. I have seen so many times lately that when I simply ask God before making plans…He answers.

Do you do that? If we are believer’s and we realize that God is holding us in the palm of His hand, then we should be seeking God’s face in all that we do.

Life moves too fast, there are too many other options that can distract us; get us off course. Just go to Wal-Mart and you will see! *smile*

Last night, I heard God say, “Focus on me, spend just 10 minutes seeking My Face.” So, of course, I found this YouTube video of a song that I have been hearing on the radio. I wanted to look up more on the words of the song.

It speaks on Waiting….waiting before the Lord of the Universe. Centering our lives on Praising Him in the midst of Life is not an easy task but we have to keep trying.

“You are everything You’ve promised
Your faithfulness is true
And we’re desperate for Your presence
All we need is You”

I actually heard this song last November when our family went to visit the Passion City Church in Atlanta where Chris Tomlin is the worship leader and Christy Nockels sings with him. FABULOUS WORSHIP EXPERIENCE! I was blown away then, just as I am today in sharing this video.

I pray this song “Waiting Here For You” will take you to a resting place to seek God’s face. (Do me a favor….go to the bottom right hand of the youtube screen and enlarge it to fill your whole screen.) This was recorded at Passion Conference that I have spoken about before!

I want that passion to see Jesus’ face in everything that I do.

Blessings friends!
