Do Everything

There is a new song that I have caught playing on K-Love in the last couple of weeks. It has stopped me in my tracks.

{Here we go again in this journey of God teaching me about Grace ~ See my previous post}

Learning to receive His Grace… but also the grace that I need to extend to others whether they deserve it or not.

Steven Curtis Chapman has a new album that is to be released in one month on August 9th. You can listen to it here on his website.

The words that stuck out to me was the chorus. It goes like this…

Do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you
Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do

I love this song because it speaks to men and women, to those with high paying jobs, those flipping burgers, and even those on missions in the Congo, the bottom line is no matter where you are, you are do everything for the glory of God.

This type of grace can be learned in so many different games of life!

With your kids,
With your SPOUSE!
With your co-workers!
With your neighbor’s and their barking dogs!
With your extended family!
With those that have done you wrong!

I think that Grace is a key component that God wants us to display to others. Have you ever realized how many verses of scripture say something to the effect of “Grace and Peace to you.”

The disciples and apostles all knew full well how much we needed grace and peace as we walked through life’s ups and downs. That is why when they greeted people and even when they were leaving a group of people they would say, “May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:28

There are many more scriptures of this kind. It amazed me when I went to the scriptures to look it up. But for those verses that tell us about showing grace to others, that would be included in the greatest commandment that Jesus gave us.

John 13:34-35 “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

I pray that you will soak up the words to this song as well as this message of showing grace to others. The song has a catchy beat that has had my foot just a tappin’~ I can’t wait for the version to come out on iTunes.

Have a great weekend! Look our for next week’s post – this grace theme God doesn’t seem to want to stop. I am going to share some insight I have learned about showing grace in Marriage. (I am sure my husband is saying…”this ought to be good!”)

  1. Amy, so glad to meet another Georgia girl going to SS! I have another friend who is coming with me and we are both first timers. Absolutely love your blog – the design, the writing, the themes! Seems we have a lot in common. And this song…my daughter has been trying to get it off of Itunes for weeks now and it is evidently not available yet.
Can’t wait to meet you in 10 days!
