We’ll be doing some fun giveaways every Tuesday on Lysa’s blog too! (www.LysaTerKeurst.com)
Isn’t that incredible!? I know so many others will get such a blessing out of being able to share these teachings with others. This book has helped me change my mindset in how God wants me to crave FOOD (in moderation)! But more importantly, how I need to Crave God!
Ok, now to the special song that I want to share with you today. I have been listening to this song that I just randomly found on a blog about a month ago and I have unpacked it enough to where I am now able to share it with you. Sometimes speaking about certain things leads me to be more accountable in my walk with Jesus. You know – practice what you are preaching…walking the talk. Sometimes that is challenging!
At first, the title “Dangerous Prayer” …Umm… kinda intimidated me a bit. My Mama always taught me – “be careful what you pray for you might just get it!” You know…those prayers for patience…I am careful to make sure I am really wanting that one before I go there!
This kind of prayer kinda evokes the same queasiness.
Here are some of the words…
Jesus, Rain on my parade
Strip me down again
So I’m desperate for you
Jesus, Whatever it takes
Bring me to my end
So I’m desperate for you
What does it mean to be desperate for God? Have you ever been there?
Most of us have been desperate for food, a bath or even sleep but to be desperate for God is another story. Then her next line is even harder to swallow. “Jesus, whatever it takes, bring me to my end so I’m desperate for you!”
Sometimes we have to be brought to the place where we are desperate for Jesus. I have been there. It is not a pretty place but oh the Joy that comes in the morning is so glorious! The place of knowing that Jesus is your ALL – there is nothing like that relationship with my Savior!
I know it seems that I talk about this same subject many times through this blog…I think I am constantly having to be reminded that this life isn’t all about me! It is about what God wants to produce in me through His Holy Spirit.
Lately, I have been following some missionaries that are “out in the field”. They see where so many people need God’s hand in the midst of them being desperate. Those are some deep places that I pray God will meet those people who don’t have 10 Bibles in their house, clothes to wear and food to eat. Medicine to give their children and a safe place to lay their head at night.
However; those are the very places that God wants to touch and intervene in supernatural ways in my life as well. Just because I realize that there are people out there in those circumstances shouldn’t stop me from also asking God to reveal Himself into my circumstances as well.
So here is the song. I pray it shakes you to a dangerous place of asking Jesus to be your EVERYTHING!
That song is beautiful Amy! It is amazing that the longer I walk this walk the more I realize how dependent on Him and how desperate I must be for Him every day! May you be richly blessed this week!

I need this prayer everyday. I find that if I am not desperate for Jesus then I let other things take control of my time, thoughts and day. I know it’s not easy to live life when we’re ‘uncomfortable’ but when we fully rely on Him and trust Him to get us through, something special happens! Thanks for sharing this!
