No Matter What

A couple of weeks ago I found this song that SO ministered to my heart. Do you have songs that sometimes just TOTALLY take you to the place that you are in or even where you have been before? Music ministers to my soul, encourages me in the darkest moments, and helps me release my freedom in ways that sometimes I think only God understands.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of sharing my testimony with a friend that I have been journeying with through life for the last 2 years. She asked to hear “my whole story”. This story is something that happened to me 8 years ago but with each time I bring it up it is like God transports me back in time to that “PLACE”.

That “place” is a hard place… but also a place where I realize the sovereignty of God. I could not have weathered the storm if it were not for Jesus and his Promises that he has stored in my heart. I had spent years pouring into God’s Word before walking through this storm. All those promises were stored up in a bank in my heart.

Kerri Roberts begins her song with the phrase “I am running back to your promises one more time. Lord, that is all I can hold on to.” Hanging onto the promises that God gives us in His Word is a very powerful place. Many times I need reminding what those scriptures are, so I post them on index cards and put them in places that I know I will see through out the day. My car dashboard is one of my favorite places! Learning scriptures are what God pulls up out of your heart when you don’t have access to the Bible.

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”

God wants to expose some of my innermost thoughts and desires so that I can clean them up and reflect His light to the world around me.

The next part that gets me right at the core, where I need reminding constantly, is the fact that nothing takes God by surprise! How incredible is that!? God does not get side swiped by issues that hit us over the head and absolutely knock us to the ground. He sees things coming all along! “Before any heartache can ever touch my life, it has to go through Your hands.”

Our life is filtered through his hands. For everything I believe there is a reason why it happens – that doesn’t mean we were included in the memo or that we will know why it is happening.

But the main chorus is what gets me right at the core.

“No matter what, I ‘m going to love you, no matter what, I am going to need you!” That is a bold statement but a statement that takes me to a place where I can curl up in my Heavenly Father’s lap and know that no matter what…I love him! He is sovereign over all and will take care of me and never leaves me!

I pray that you can find that “No matter what” moment in your journey as well!

Below I am trying to figure out which system works well with posting songs. Either going to youtube or directly to the song. Let me know your thoughts! Listening to the song will make all the rambling I did make sense…hopefully! Post a comment and let me know what you think of the song!

    Amy,
You have truly blessed my soul with your message and I love that song, “No Matter What”. I am so aligned with you today! God lead me to do something this morning that appeared so far-fetched from my little carnal mind that I almost yield to my understanding and rationalization. However, I realized if my creator commanded me to do his plan I must follow through. I thank GOD each day just for allowing me to be his child, showering me with his numerous blessing and letting me rest in his peace. Thanks again and continue to have a Blessed Life in our GOD!

I love your new blog! And… No Matter What is one of my favorite songs. It comes on The Message on serius radio all the time and “no matter what” has been my mantra for years. Love the blog. Love the song. And I love you!

Regarding the video vs audio, I prefer the YouTube video. Every time I tried to open the audio file my internet shut down 😦

Blessings to you and your family,
    LeAnn

    Mrs. Amy,

First of all, I think it is AWESOME that you have been called to share your experiences and learnings through this blog! I think you have an amazing calling to minister to women and I speak for myself when I say that it is very motivating. I can relate to the ministry of music very strongly. Music is such a powerful tool in my life. I have had moments while driving down the road when a particular song (Third Day-Call my name) has come on and I didn’t know if I wanted to cry or laugh at the perfection of the moment. At those times, it was so evident to me that God was speaking to ME. I will most definitely be following your blog to read about all the new experiences. Please pass my love on to the girls!

I’m so glad the blog is finally here, it looks wonderful. Sometimes we tend to say ‘Why me?’ when God puts us through the wringer. But it’s once we make it to the other side that we can see His purpose, see how He was able to use the experience, and what incredibly different people we are for having had the wringing that we have to fall on our face in humility and say again, ‘Why me? Why was I worthy to go through it?’

I look forward to hearing more of your story and thoughts from your life and study. Congrats!

  6. There are so many people I want to share this with. I cannot wait for the next post. I need to subscribe to them 😉

    Amy,

That song is great! I am going to ask God for the right time to share this song with my aunt who lost her son in a motorcycle accident a couple of years ago. That experience was hard for me as well. And songs like this one seem to minister to me tremendously…..maybe it will to her too. Thank you so much for sharing this and for inviting me to subscribe to your blog!
