God is greater.

God is greater than your feelings. God is greater than your problems. God is greater than your thoughts about yourself. God is greater than anyone in this world.

There is someone who needed to hear that! Personally, I need to hear it several times a day. I tend to need reminding of that truth.

God is greater.

We tend to make other things our God. You know…you do it too. Our problems can become our God. Our guilt and shame can become our God. My fears are a big one for me. I tend to place them in a higher position than they really ever should be.

God is greater.

Because we tend to carry all these weights of the world on us, we think we live by a different name. We don’t feel worthy of carrying the name of Jesus.

But that is where I get it all wrong. In reality, the enemy is wanting to me to focus on that lie.

That I don’t matter. What I do doesn’t matter. The fear, guilt and shame take over.

God is greater.

When I go to the Bible to examine where scripture talks about our Heavenly Father being greater, this is what I find.

1 John 4:4     “But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”

Job 33:12     “But you are wrong, and I will show you why. For God is greater than any human being.”

Psalm 4:7    “You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.”

John 14:12  “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.”

Today He is shooting straight with me.  No arguing about it.  Just reminding myself that I serve a God that says I am Holy, Righteous and Redeemed because He who is in me is greater than He who is in the world.  The cross has already won the war that I am fighting today.

Many of these things I am speaking about today ring loudly through my house on any given day.  I am telling you, this Mercy Me CD “Welcome to the New”, is ministering to our family in ways I never imagined.  We are talking about these truths with our daughters.

Because you know…the world is speaking some other kind of junk that is easy to fall prey to and believe.

So today, we are claiming that we are Holy, Righteous and Redeemed by a God that is Greater!
