No More Cages…Just Free!

Today I am linking up with  my friend Paula at Grow Where You Are Planted.  It is a blog where we all are invited to share different songs that are speaking to us right now.  Songs are always a way that God uses to speak to me.  Which is a good reason why I try to stay away from country songs…{no offense if that is what you listen to! }

These last couple of weeks have seemed like a whirlwind…do you ever have those weeks?  You just feel like you keep meeting yourself in the road.

Blessings like…Car troubles, financial decisions, big changes, new relationships that are fun, old relationships that need some work. Teenagers, runny noses and pollen already on my back porch!  It all seems to be happening right here in this house of ours!  I love it though!  God uses these things to keep us humble as followers of Jesus.  He never promised it would be easy.  Or at least, I haven’t found that verse yet.

The song that I wanted to share with you is one that has just recently begun being played on the radio.  It is by Dara Maclean called “Free.”  I love the “raspyness” of Dara’s voice.  I love the freedom from which you can see her singing this song.  What freedom it is when God comes and delivers us from our insecurities!

I was caged in, then You opened
Every door that held me bound and You gave me the key
No more pressure I can just breathe
The girl I tried so hard to be, has always been me

Here are all the lyrics to the song.  Read these words first and see if this song resonates with you.

Hurting heart and broken wings
Cannot stop Your love from always finding me
No more days wasting away
I finally realize the gift inside of me

My strength alone will never be enough
But Your arms keep lifting me up

You tell me I’ve been made free
You give me everything I need to walk in my dreams
You whisper words that free my soul
You’re the reason I have hope
You’re everything I need and more
You made me
You made me free

I was caged in, then You opened
Every door that held me bound and You gave me the key
No more pressure I can just breathe
The girl I tried so hard to be, has always been me

My strength alone will never be enough
But Your arms keep lifting me up

You tell me I’ve been made free
You give me everything I need to walk in my dreams
You whisper words that free my soul
You’re the reason I have hope
You’re everything I need and more

Now I’m free to love, free to live,
Free to take my life and give it all to You

You tell me I’ve been made free
You give me everything I need to walk in my dreams
You whisper words that free my soul
You’re the reason I have hope
You’re everything I need and more
You made me
You made me free
You made me
You made me free

I guess I would have to say the line that is my favorite is the one that says

“My strength alone will never be enough, but Your Arms keep lifting me up.”

Those are the arms that I love to crawl up in and share my thoughts, dreams, hopes and life with.  The arms of Jesus are such a source of help and comfort.  It is a place where I am accepted no matter what my past says.  A place where I am loved and encouraged to follow Hard after Him.  The arms of strength that tell me I can be Bold and Radical for my Savior because He has my back! He loves me!  And He has made me FREE!

Many Blessings in this Tune In Tuesday – {just a day late… but NOT a dollar short! 🙂 }
